The Римский занавес is made with пошив вгладь (без складок) and it consists of a single tail that opens vertically, collectling the fabric from the bottom upwards by means of a system of cables and guiding rings sewn on the its back.
Its mechanics are therefore the same that are used by the Венецианское открытие and the Австрийское открытие, whose curtains are however totally different in terms of aesthetics.
Sober but elegant, it is not often found as a main curtain, while it is frequently used for tulle or muslin backdrops to be used as a support for projections during all kinds of shows, because it allows effectively and in a budget friendly way the vertical opening where a low stage height does not permit the installation of a Подъемно-опускное открытие.
The пошив вгладь (без складок) prevents the Римский занавес from being opened with a shaped bottom edge.
