The fabric of the GGI - Siria gauze is the same as that of the GTR - Tarlatana, whose stiffness derives from the particular sizing treatment.The comparison between the two fabrics shows how an identical texture corresponds to a very different consistency.

Teatro alla Scala, ''Teneke'' The tormented high grounds of this scenography by Arnaldo Pomodoro have been realized by the scenographical workshop of Teatro alla Scala with a large use of GGI - Siria gauze.

GGI - Siria is a soft and lightweight plain-woven cotton fabric with a loose and transparent texture.
In scenography it is normally used as a support, soaked in a solution of water and vinyl glue, to reinforce the surface of scenic elements or polystyrene sculptures.
It is also used for veils, transparency effects, costumes and props.
The same fabric stiffened with the vinyl solution is the GTR - Tarlatana.
